Bonnie Kay & The Sweet Patooties
Bonnie Kay and the Sweet Patooties is a dynamic all-female band fronted by the captivating vocalist Bonnie Kay. Over the past three years, this talented group has been performing regularly across Sydney’s clubs and pubs, as well as appearing at a variety of festivals and concerts including the Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival, Newcastle Jazz Festival, and Marrickville Street Festival.
Now nearing completion of their debut album—featuring mostly original material—the Sweet Patooties deliver a vibrant blend of styles. Their repertoire ranges from the sassy, bawdy blues and jazz of the 1920s and ’30s to the rockabilly, swing, and country sounds of the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s, with a few surprises beyond.
These ladies don’t just play together—they sparkle together. Their musical chemistry, rich harmonies (sometimes in four parts), and infectious camaraderie make every performance a joyful and uplifting experience. The Sweet Patooties are a fun, inspiring, and immensely talented group of women who bring heart and soul to every stage they grace.
